What we do

Sensory Sounds creates a positive bonding experience between parents and their children with additional needs through musical experiences. Come and join us on this sensory journey and find out how you can get involved in your child's sensory education and create fun memories together!

Sensory Sounds has produced eight high quality audio tracks and music videos, performed by musicians at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The chosen music has been specifically arranged to help children on a sensory journey and allows sensory discoveries to be made in their own time.

We aim to provide resources for parents that encourage positive musical experiences with their children. Often it can seem daunting to run a musical activity from home, but with the help of Sensory Sounds we aim to improve your confidence to complete fun activities with your child.

A selection of leading practitioners in the field have taken part in an interview series aimed at demystifying music making and providing parents with all the information they might need to improve their confidence taking part in musical activities with their children

Sensory Items

Working with Ali's Sensory Boxes, we can provide a suitable sensory box for your child, tailored to their individual needs. Alternatively, we provide guide to creating your own DIY sensory box that gives you ideas to create your own sensory objects at home!

About Us

Abbie Pascoe

Abbie is currently in her fourth year of undergraduate study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studying classical saxophone. She works as a freelance music practitioner with Big Top Musical Adventures and is a woodwind tutor at Brookfields Music Studio.

Sensory Sounds stemmed from the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic and the isolation and overwhelming feelings that parents caring for children with additional needs felt whilst they home-schooled their children.

Through speaking to parents, carers and teachers, It became apparent that there were not enough resources focusing on the bond between parent and child, and how doing something together, such as a musical activity, could improve both the wellness of the child and parent.
